Shear Ego International is proud to offer the only accredited barber program in Upstate New York.  Our Barber/Styling Program exposes you to all aspects of barbering through 600 hours of lecture, practice demonstration, audio-visual materials, practical and theory worksheets with illustration and, most importantly, client work.

Our expansive program covers the history of barber/styling, bacteriology, sterilization and sanitation in the workplace, treatment of the hair and scalp, facial massage and treatment, shaving, hair cutting, hair styling, mustache and beard design, men’s hair pieces, anatomy and physiology, tools and equipment, maintaining a professional image, the job search, selling in the barber/styling shop, shop management and licensing laws.

Upon completion of our 4 ½ month curriculum, you will receive a Barber/Styling Certificate and be well prepared to take the New York State Board Examination.  After successfully passing the exam, you will be qualified for a variety of job opportunities- including Master Barber/Stylist, manufacturer’s representative, product demonstrator, hair replacement specialist, media Barber/Stylist and platform artist.

The total cost of our Barber/Styling Program is $8,700.00.  This fee includes tuition, registration fee, books and equipment.  Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
