“I am a graduate of the Barber Program at the Shear Ego International School of Hair Design. I decided to attend the program because of the following reasons: As a Veteran I wanted a program I could use my benefits with. I also wanted a program that allowed me to start my new career as quickly as possible. The program is only 600 hours which I found to be very convenient. This allowed me to finish the program, take my State Board, and start my new career all within a years time frame. I was able to immediately find employment after passing my State Board and receiving my license. I am now the manager at The Men's Club at Shear Ego an 8 thousand square foot Barber Spa in Pittsford Plaza. If you're looking for a profitable career that can be obtained with minimal time and effort, I highly recommend the Barber Program at Shear Ego International School of Hair Design". ~ Gilberto Soria, Master Barber/Manager at Shear Ego's Men's Club in Pittsford, NY.

Gainful Employment Information

The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), has long provided for the extension of financial aid to students attending post-secondary programs that “lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation,” including nearly all programs at for-profit institutions and certificate programs at public and non-profit institutions. For-profit institutions, in particular, are a diverse, innovative, and fast-growing group of institutions. Below is the pertinent information as pertaining to the Barber-Styling & Cosmetology (CIP code – 12.0402) Program at Shear Ego International School of Hair Design. On-time Graduation Rates / Placement Metrics / Median Loan Debt Colleges, universities, and proprietary schools like Shear Ego International School of Hair Design are required to disclose On-Time Graduation Rates, Placement Metrics, and Median Loan Debt for each program offered for each award year. The on-time graduation rate is calculated by dividing the number of on-time completers by the total number of graduates for the specific year. These on-time graduation rates are based on perfect attendance and do not account for holidays, school closings, leave of absence or minimum absent time. Shear Ego International School of Hair Design provides the number of graduates during an award year who completed their program within 150% of the normal program length. This metric is in line with reporting graduation rates to other federal reporting and accrediting agencies. Federal regulations also require colleges, universities, and proprietary schools like Shear Ego International School of Hair Design to disclose placement rate information about the population of students counted as “on-time” completers.

In addition to these rates, Shear Ego International School of Hair Design collects and reports placement (employment) rates annually to our accrediting agency, the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS). Median loan debt is based on the number of students who completed their program in the specific financial aid award year, and has been calculated by comparing the total amounts that students borrowed for each loan type, starting with $0 up to the maximum amount borrowed.
